Make coloring fun, by providing things that you can put behind a picture to make it look textured. You can simply color a picture, or you can have crayons without wrappers. You take the crayon without the wrapper and lay it on it’s side to press down on the picture, picking up the texture from beneath. In the colored pictures displayed on this page, the cow picture was placed on cardboard, colored with colored pencils, and turned to provide a unique pattern. The same was done with the rooster and other items that look textured below. Things that have been used before are coins, you can use a pencil for coins, leaf patterns work well too.
