Special activities may include small group activities that happen only once a month, or once a year. They could include no group at all, but instead be a facility-wide activity. They are generally not games, and require no special expertise. Special activities are provided for entertainment, social, and spiritual sharing, and celebrations of one’s self and one’s heritage. These activities, as all meaningful activities, require planning and an eager facilitator. They provide a great deal of enjoyment, for all who participate, so they are always worth the extra effort.
