There are hundreds of craft activities available to individuals in long term care. Those we put on this site are some we have found to be most rewarding to the participants. We look for crafts that will require some time, some thought, and some creativity. When the participants have finished their project we want them to feel some pride and accomplishment in what they have done.
We also keep in mind that there is a group of individuals who enjoy crafting but are unable to participate in the more involved pieces. For these folks, less complicated crafts are provided that will still give them the feeling of creating something pretty, cute, or just fun.
Whatever craft you choose, it is the participants’ activity and they should be performing the work to the greatest extent possible. Remember, it isn’t perfection that’s required, only a good time.
