This is a small group activity that requires a marker board, large enough that everyone can clearly see what you are putting up. Utilize “Word Pictures” from the Creative Forecasting magazine or locate puzzle sites on the internet. We have chosen those puzzles that work well for our population of cognitively active individuals who benefit from problem solving activities. They also think the activity is fun!
Using a dry erase marker, draw or print the necessary pictures and letters onto the marker board, large enough that they are easily seen.
If the group is having difficulty breaking the code and discerning the answer, provide a clue such as giving the first letter of the answer or a suggestion as to the nature of the answer.
With the appropriate team of participants, this activity has easily lasted an hour.
