Individuals playing this game must have the ability to read the names of 25 different vegetables.
Materials required for this game are bingo cards, (copy and laminate) one for each participant, items for making the spaces (giant buttons, checkers, large legos, large glass flat beads from the floral shop, etc…) and the small deck of 25 word cards (copy, laminate and cut into individual cards).
Provide an ample supply of markers to each player and instruct everyone that they may place a marker on the “free soup square. As the facilitator, you then pull one card from the word pile and read the name of the vegetable aloud. Each participant who has that vegetable word on their bingo card lays a marker in the appropriate square. When a player has 5 markers in a row, they bingo.
You might be able to play 3 or 4 games before your participants tire. You don’t want to go too long but at least long enough that the game becomes familiar.
You might decide to award prizes for the winners such as sugar-free wrapped candy, mini bags of Fritos, a packaged cookie, chap stick, etc.
